Training

ADA Australia offers a range of training options and methods of delivery to identify, manage and address psychological hazards at work, to foster mentally healthy workplace behaviours and norms, and to promote better wellbeing choices and safety practices around drugs and alcohol.

All ADA Australia trainers have their own journeys through depression, anxiety and alcohol and drug dependence. Each has "been there"; and each brings the searing honesty of their own lives and paths to recovery to each presentation.

Their 'lived experience' will find the mark with your people - particularly with those who may be confronting their own challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Training FAQs

Common questions about our training programs, delivery, and pricing.

ADA Australia offers 15+ programs across three categories: core workplace programs covering drugs, alcohol and mental health awareness; specialised alcohol and other drugs (AOD) programs including toolbox talks, community prevention and schools programs; and specialised mental health programs including accredited Mental Health First Aid and the 3-yearly MHFA Refresher, suicide prevention, bullying and gendered violence, and anxiety and stress management. Programs are available for all employees, leaders, apprentices, schools, sporting clubs and community organisations.

ADA Australia training aligns with the national model Work Health and Safety Act (2011) and relevant codes of practice for managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace. Drugs and alcohol are a factor in 1 in 10 workplace deaths and 1 in 4 reportable workplace accidents. Our programs help employers meet their duty of care obligations by equipping staff to identify, manage and address psychological and substance-related hazards at work.

All ADA Australia trainers hold professional qualifications alongside their own lived experience of depression, anxiety, and alcohol and drug dependence. Each trainer has "been there" and brings the searing honesty of their own journey and path to recovery to every presentation. Their authenticity is what makes our training connect, particularly with those who may be confronting their own challenges. Mental Health First Aid courses are delivered by nationally accredited MHFA instructors.

ADA Australia delivers training on-site at your workplace, online via live interactive webinar, or in a blended format combining both. Programs range from 15-minute toolbox talks and tea-break sessions through to 1-2 hour awareness workshops, 3-hour extended sessions, and full-day or multi-day programs such as the accredited Mental Health First Aid course. All formats include comprehensive materials and a certificate of completion.

All ADA Australia programs can be tailored to your industry, workforce size, and specific workplace challenges. Customisation includes industry-specific risk scenarios, alignment with your workplace substance policies, co-branded materials with your organisation logo, and content adapted for different audiences from frontline workers to executives. We work with corporates, unions, NGOs, group apprenticeship schemes, schools, sporting clubs, and community organisations across Australia.

ADA Australia offers business pricing across all training programs, covering on-site and webinar delivery with unlimited participants per session. Individual pricing is also available for select programs on a per-person basis. Some specialised programs including Mental Health First Aid, leadership training, and toolbox talks are quoted on request to match your requirements. Visit any program page to view current pricing options.

You can book individual sessions directly through any program page on our website. For corporate and customised training, contact our team by calling 1300 378 429 or submitting an enquiry form on any program page. We respond to all enquiries within 2 business days with a customised proposal.
